Alone in the Dark: Trailer introduces residents of the house and lets the actors have their say

THQ Nordic is giving an Infogrames classic from the 1990s a new lease of life next month with the release of a new Alone in the Dark on March 20th 2024. A new trailer shows what Stranger Things actor David Harbour thinks about the game.

On March 2024, publisher THQ Nordic will open the door to a well-known haunted house with the release of Alone in the Dark. After all, this is a reinterpretation of a true classic from the early 90s and anyone who was able to hold a joystick in their hand back then will remember the original, which set a milestone in the horror genre - years before the release of the first Resident Evil.

The new Alone in the Dark has to go one better in many respects, because what made the first Alone in the Dark so special back then may no longer work today. Fixed camera angles, for example, which show rooms from a certain point of view, often simply hide dangers - if an enemy suddenly stumbled into the visible game area, the shock was great. Regardless of the fact that zombies with their triangular grapples didn't really look like zombies, but more like a glitch in the Minecraft universe.

With the new edition of Alone in the Dark, nothing is visually reminiscent of the dusty original. The new version is more realistic, livelier and there seems to be more going on in the haunted house in general, which is also reflected in the dialogues with the many different characters. In Derceto Manor, you can alternate between playing the two protagonists Emily and Edward, played by Jodie Comer (Killing Eve) and David Harbour (Stranger Things, Law & Order).In the new "Into the Madness" trailer, both actors talk about their work on Alone in the Dark, the different endings of the game and the characters you meet in the manor, who react differently to Emily and Edward.
