Amerzone is a point-and-click adventure game from 1999 by author Benoît Sokal, which is now available as a modernised new edition under the name Amerzone: The Explorer's Legacy. The game tells the story of a journalist who has to bring the last egg of the mystical white bird to the fictitious land of Amerzone and save it. A country with an extraordinary (and dangerous) flora and fauna that has been groaning under a dictatorship for years. The Explorer's Legacy combines beautiful graphics with a melancholy, calm atmosphere and tells a profound story about guilt, reconciliation and discovery. The narrative style and surrealistic world made it a cult classic in the adventure genre.

Amerzone: The Explorer's Legacy, the remake now released, brings the original into the modern age with completely reworked 3D graphics, fresh soundtrack and additional dialogue. Developer and publisher Microids has modernised the controls, including free movement in a fully explorable environment, which makes immersion in the world even more intense. In addition, some narrative elements have been deepened and new puzzles introduced that expand the story without losing the charm of the original.
