Create your own Arcade with Arcade Paradise - launching August 11th!
It's hard to say whether the developers at Nosebleed Interactive have superpowers similar to Eleven from Stranger Things. One wishes so for the team, because the studio plans to develop no less than 35 arcade games specifically for the upcoming arcade adventure game Arcade Paradise. A mammoth task, because the main game alone, which is essentially a story-driven adventure game, requires a lot of development work. The 35 arcade games are then added on top of that.
Nosebleed Interactive was inspired by the arcade classics of the 80s and 90s. Back then, games like Daytona USA, Street Fighter, Track & Field or Out Run dominated the arcades. Depending on whether you played in a city arcade or threw your pennies into the somewhat older, worn-out machines of the local village disco, the countless arcade variants were considered modern forerunners from a technical point of view, originals of which (often worse) home computer adaptations were only made later.
Arcade Paradise transports you to such an arcade of the 1990s. So be prepared for a certain retro flair, a journey back to the golden days of video games. But wait! At the beginning of the game, the arcade is not even finished yet. Protagonist Ashley, that's you, is given the family's stuffy laundromat - and in Arcade Paradise you set up a lively arcade in it step by step. Because gambling amidst paradisiacal retro sounds is logically much nicer (and more profitable) than washing dirty laundry between clattering machines.
In the current developer video "Insert Coin: The Making of Arcade Paradise | Finding the Narrative", shown here, the developer team chats a little about the development for the game. What are the challenges in realising such an idea? How does the adventure play, how do the self-developed arcade games play? Why is the story so important for Arcade Paradise?
Arcade Paradise will be launching on August 11th 2022 and will soon be available on Gamesplanet to pre-order.
