Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced: Ubisoft Confirms PC and Handheld Support at Launch

Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced will also run on the Steam Deck and other similarly powerful PC handhelds starting with its July 9 release—officially confirmed by Ubisoft.

Good news for everyone who prefers to throw their grappling hooks from the comfort of their couch or while riding the bus: Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced will not only launch on traditional gaming PCs but will also be available right from launch on the Steam Deck and other PC handhelds, such as the ROG Ally or Lenovo Legion Go—even if the game has been activated on Ubisoft Connect. Ubisoft emphasizes that the development team has specifically worked to balance graphics and performance on the more compact handheld hardware. So this isn’t a stripped-down spin-off, but a full-fledged version of Edward Kenway’s Caribbean adventure for on the go.

Ubisoft's remake of the action-adventure game sends you out onto the high seas and ashore as pirate captain Edward Kenway: board ships, infiltrate cities, and cut through enemy ranks with your saber. The Steam Deck version also retains most of the technical highlights that set the PC version apart—ray tracing, dynamic weather, and a completely rebuilt Caribbean world.

If you play the game on the handheld at launch, you won’t miss a thing: Steam achievements and Steam collectibles—such as virtual maps, profile backgrounds, and emoticons—can be unlocked from day one.
