Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced: How to Find the Secret Explorer Outfit

Highly sought-after in the original 2013 version and now discovered in the new Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced: Edward's legendary Explorer outfit. Now, a player has prematurely revealed its location on Reddit—thwarting Ubisoft's own treasure hunt in the process.

Anyone playing Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced knows how it works: Edward Kenway can be dressed not only in his standard attire but also in various alternative outfits that you can simply find in the world or purchase from merchants for cash. However, one particular skin was supposedly missing entirely in the eyes of the community—the handsome Explorer outfit. It’s so popular because it replicates the classic Assassin look while also passing as a pirate outfit for the Caribbean. Many fans assumed that the outfit had fallen victim to the remake. As it turned out, they were wrong.

How to Find the Explorer Outfit in the Black Flag Remake

According to a Reddit post by user “-Holliday,” the outfit was discovered more by chance, without having to comb through a specific area during a search. You’ll need to sail your ship to a cove west of the Chinchorro area and drop anchor at coordinates 28,292. Once there, Edward jumps into the water, dives down to a treasure chest, and grabs the Explorer outfit.

Ubisoft's Treasure Hunt Ends Early

Fun fact: The Explorer outfit was actually supposed to be the reward for an official treasure hunt that Ubisoft launched on July 11th via social media. Three chests were hidden in the virtual Caribbean—two of them filled only with gold—and new clues were supposed to be released weekly. However, since the community tracked down the actual prize ahead of schedule, Ubisoft is calling off the event and congratulating the finders on X:

“You guys are just too good 🤣 We were going to reveal a clue for this community chest on Friday but your treasure hunting skills are too great. Hats off to you! 👏”
