What is Assassin's Creed Odyssey?

Assassin's Creed Odyssey is the next entry in the popular open world action series, with a focus on stealth, RPG mechanics and exploration. This time around the series is heading to Ancient Greece with the largest open world ever featured in the franchise and new gameplay mechanics such as Dialogue Options, Improved Skill trees, large scale battles between two factions and more! Players will also be able to pick between two heroes and play as either Kassandra or Alexios as they explore the world. Like last year's Assassin's Creed Origins there is a large focus on exploring the world and playing the way you want, with dynamic quests popping up the more you progress into the story. This time around you'll even be able to make choices that will shape your missions, so whether you prefer to tackle things in Stealth, or you take things head on there might be a different outcome.

Odyssey will see the return of Naval Battles, but this time around you'll have even more options at your disposal with Rare Ships and Crew that can change the abilities in combat. You'll be able to recruit Crew members to join your cause and aid you in battle. The game will also receive a steady stream of post-launch content with both Season Pass and Free Updates coming to the game after launch including a Remastered version of Assassin's Creed III for Season Pass owners that will launch in March 2019 and Episodic Story Chapters that will be released regularly.

Whether you're a newcomer to the series, or if you've played a previous entry you're bound to have fun with Assassin's Creed Odyssey and you won't have long to wait as it launches next week!

Launch Times and Preload info for Assassin's Creed Odyssey

Those waiting to explore Greece will be able to start preloading the game right now, by adding the game to Uplay and downloading 39gigs of data so you can launch the moment the game is out. If you purchase the Gold or Ultimate Editions of the game you will be able to play from 11pm BST (October 1st) / 12am CEST (October 2nd). Otherwise you'll need to wait until 11pm BST (October 4th) / 12am CEST (October 5th) with Standard or Deluxe Editions.
