Assassin's Creed Shadows: Introducing the actors of Naoe and Yasuke

Ubisoft takes us deeper into the development of Assassin's Creed Shadows with a new video featuring the actors behind the two main characters: Naoe and Yasuke. Find out who gives life to these historical shadow warriors and what they think about their roles here.

The faces behind the warriors

In the video, actress MASUMI and actor Tongayi Chirisa do the honours. Both talk enthusiastically about their experience of bringing these iconic characters to life. Particularly exciting: Assassin's Creed Shadows not only focuses on authentic portrayals, but also on in-depth character studies that ensure that players can also form an emotional bond with the protagonists.

Who is Naoe?

Naoe is a skilful shinobi warrior from the Iga Province whose agility and stealth make her the perfect assassin. Actress MASUMI (Yakuza Princess, NCIS: Hawai'i) describes her as a determined and focussed character driven by her strong will and tragic past.

Who is Yasuke?

Yasuke, portrayed by Tongayi Chirisa (Transformers: Rise of the Beasts, Next Exit), is a historical figure and one of the few known African samurai. He brings brute strength to the game and favours direct confrontation in Assassin's Creed Shadows, while Naoe prefers stealth mode. Tongayi Chirisa emphasises how exciting it was to breathe new life into this legendary figure while maintaining historical authenticity.

Both actors not only lent their voices to the characters in AC Shadows, but were also actively involved in the motion capture process. The mixture of action, emotion and historical depth makes their performances all the more impressive. Ubisoft relies on a high level of attention to detail to credibly introduce the characters to the era of feudal Japan.
