Assetto Corsa Rally: EA Update 0.6 with 3 New Classic Cars, Photo Mode, and More
Early Access Update 0.6 for Assetto Corsa Rally comes roaring in: new cars, Photo Mode, private lobbies, and an overhauled tyre model make your off-road adventures even better.
Update 0.6 for Assetto Corsa Rally is now available, ready to tune up your Early Access experience. Three new vehicles with a historical background are joining the roster. Leading the pack is the 1980 Audi Quattro Gr.4 – the car that turned the entire rally scene on its head at the time with its permanent all-wheel drive. Developer Supernova has recreated it in the early specification used by Hannu Mikkola as a course car at the 1980 Rally Algarve. A small curiosity: because of its locked centre differential, the handbrake locks all four wheels, making classic handbrake turns virtually impossible.
Joining it are the 1999 Peugeot 206 WRC, with which Peugeot returned to the world of World Rally Cars after the Group A era, and the 2018 Volkswagen Polo GTI R5. The Polo produces 272 hp from its 1.6-litre engine and accelerates to 100 km/h in around 3.9 seconds – compact, vicious, and, according to the development team, deliberately tuned to be easy to drive.
Photo Mode, Private Lobbies, and More Customization in Assetto Corsa Rally
Alongside the three new cars, Update 0.6 gives Assetto Corsa Rally a full-fledged Photo Mode, allowing you to capture your best drifting and jumping moments. The mode can be accessed directly from races, replays, the service park, and the main menu. Grab your camera and start snapping! Those who enjoy racing online can also look forward to password-protected private lobbies, finally allowing you to keep your multiplayer races among friends.
Customization is also moving forward: you can now import your own liveries and save multiple favourites. This is a first step towards modding support, which Supernova has announced for the future.
Tyre Model Refined, Leaderboards Reset
Under the hood, the team has also worked on the tyre model: thermal behaviour has been enabled, the ideal tyre pressure has been recalibrated (28 psi on asphalt, 32 psi on gravel and ice), and the driving physics of Assetto Corsa Rally have been further refined across all surfaces. Because these changes also affect lap times, all leaderboards will be reset with Update 0.6. Your existing medals will remain intact, however.
