4k Graphics Comparison for Borderlands 1, 2 and 3 - How has the series developed?
In the new PixelPerfect video, we'll be investigating the graphical development of the Borderlands series, from Borderlands 1 to Borderlands 2 to Borderlands 3. Spoiler: Claptrap looks his best in the third part.
For best results we recommend watching on a 4k screen to get the best possible quality.
There's 10 years of gaming between Borderlands and Borderlands 3, but how has the series evolved graphically over time? Developer Gearbox has remained remarkably true to the style and many well-known graphic elements can be found in all three parts. Some characters have replaced in Borderlands 3 (e.g. Dr. Zed replaced with Tannis), but many elements typical of the series have been retained. Borderlands 3 has additional graphical settings and the game wins the crown thanks to not only great visual settings, but also some graphical optimisations. Although the jump from the original to the third part hasn't been very far. The goal was to make Borderlands 3 prettier for 2019 without neglecting the classic, recognisable style and Gearbox has absolutely succeeded in doing this.
In this comparison we have set the presets to the respective maximum and present you the recordings in the finest 4K resolution. If you've only entered the series with Borderlands 3, you can confidently buy the two older parts as well. From both gameplay and visuals, all three parts are very similar. See the settings used in the games at the end of the video!
