Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War Zombies Revealed!
Zombies return to get a bite of flesh when Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War launches on November 13th 2020. Find out more about this years Zombie mode while you wait!
Not only will Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War feature a great story campaign and multiplayer that the series is known for, but it'll also see the return of Zombies - last seen in 2018's Black Ops 4. Today, Activision gave fans a glimpse of what's new in this years version of the popular mode.
Zombies has been around in Call of Duty games since World at War, and developer Treyarch is hoping to take things to the next level with Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War Zombies. This includes building a brand new narrative experience that takes place during the Cold War, as well as going even further back in time.
The new zombies map known as "Die Maschine" set in the 80's and will see players join the Requiem, a CIA-backed international response team led by Grigori Weaver from the original Call of Duty: Black Ops as they explore a World War 2 bunker that is hiding a dark secret. It'll be up to you to find out what is lurking deep within and uncover the truth while keeping the Omega Group from finding out.
Expect plenty of twists and surprises this time around when COD Black Ops Cold War Zombies arrives on November 13th 2020.
Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War Zombie Features
In addition to the exciting Zombies narrative experience will be quite a few changes to how the Zombies mode works in general. Previously in COD Zombies you had to unlock weapons, but this time around players will be given their entire unlocks to use in Zombies. This means if you've unlocked a weapon in another mode you'll be able to take it into the Zombies mode and keep progression going with various unlocks and attachments!
Cross-play and Cross-gen
For the first time in the series, all Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War players will be able to play together regardless of their platform and this is true for the Zombies mode too, which features full cross-play and cross-gen support, allowing PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X players to play together.
Battle Pass Progression and Loadouts
By playing the Zombies mode you'll also be able to progress with the Battle Pass and Requiem team members can start with the weapon of their Gunsmith-crafted weapon of choice with loadout support.
Weapons, Equipment and Perks
Not only will there be plenty of weapons to use within the game, but they'll also be a variety of weapon rarities thanks to the return of the Pack-a-Punch machine. The better the quality, the more damage and attachments it may have - making it suitable for using in later rounds. If that wasn't enough, you can use various field upgrades to help survive even longer with both offensive and defensive abilities and buffs at your disposal.
As you explore the maps you'll find a number of handy lethal options, such as frag grenades to blow zombies apart - or perhaps a sentry turret to mow down the hordes that seek your brains!
Perks make a return again and classic favourites are back with a Cold War twist, such as the return of timeless favorites like Juggernog and Speed Cola. No longer will you have to worry about having to limit yourself to which perks you can consume providing you have the points to do that.
Escape at all costs!
Previously you had to survive at all costs against the hordes of Zombies, but this time they'll be another way to gain victory. If your squad is overwhelmed and you need a quick escape you can opt to exfiltrate via helicopter, though this will also increase the spawn rate of enemies and will also give players great rewards if they manage to survive.
