Server Disconnected

I bought the game a week ago, downloaded the same day. When I start the game it shows the activision logo and then trys to connect to the modern warfare servers. It takes a second and then says "server disconnected" and only gives me the option to quit to main menu. Have tried everything, including contacting activision on numerous platforms with no response. About ready to try to get a refund and walk away from this game. Anyone else having this issue?
