Captain Tsubasa 2: World Fighters announced – arcade soccer goes into extra time in 2026

Captain Tsubasa 2: World Fighters has been officially announced by Bandai Namco. The sequel will be released in 2026 and will feature more teams, new systems, and even more spectacular action.

Bandai Namco is bringing the next round of anime soccer to the field: Captain Tsubasa 2: World Fighters was presented along with an announcement trailer and is also set to be released for PC in 2026. Tsubasa's journey continues—this time with a character created by you and other new features.

In the Captain Tsubasa 2: World Fighters campaign, you accompany Tsubasa on his way to the title, make new friends, and compete against challengers from all over the world. There are a total of 22 national teams to choose from, complemented by more than 110 playable characters. In addition, there are over 150 individually animated special actions that make the matches visibly more varied. Compared to its predecessor, the roster of teams and characters has grown significantly.

The development team for the second part of the arcade sports title was apparently in training camp for a while, which is why Captain Tsubasa 2 is noticeably better on the pitch. New super actions allow you to actively intervene in the action, whether it's dribbling, passing, tackling, or blocking. Goalkeepers also play a bigger role: a new duel system pits shooters and keepers directly against each other. This adds more tactical depth to the defense and puts more focus on the iconic super shots and spectacular saves.
