Chronos: Before the Ashes gears up for release with the launch trailer!
Does the VR title Chronos (2016) now also work in an optimised form on the flat screen? Initial tests indicate a promising gaming experience, like a kind of "Dark Souls Light".
Chronos: Before the Ashes follows Chronos (2016), a game developed purely for VR headsets. Now 4 years later developer Gunfire Games has reworked the action-adventure to offer an experience for non VR players. At first glance the game may be considered a "Dark Souls Light" and while it has many elements that are similar to the series it does have more puzzle elements, as well as an interesting aging mechanic. Chronos: Before the Ashes is also considered the prequel to the successful Remnant: From the Ashes and tells the story before the events in Remnant.
Expect plenty of exploration on the agenda. Again and again you'll come face to face with challenging opponents that are waiting to take you on in a duel. The special feature of Chronos: Before the Ashes: If your character dies, it will age by one year. This even affects the course of the game. If your protagonist is still active and agile when young, it becomes more and more difficult in close combat with increasing age. However, the end of the flagpole is not yet reached in old age, because at the same time you gain wisdom and thus magical abilities. Great idea!
To a large extent, Before the Ashes is an adaptation of the VR version. However, developer Gunfire Games has reworked the title and optimised it for PCs without VR support. Chronos: Before the Ashes is launching today on Steam and you can purchase the game from us to save even more!
