[Gamescom 2019] CODE VEIN: New Boss trailer and Behind the Scenes video

Sink your teeth into a new Gamescom Trailer from BANDAI NAMCO's upcoming Action RPG CODE VEIN, which is set to launch on September 27th. Learn more about the game with a new behind the scenes video also!

There are butterflies you don't want to have in your stomach and the "Butterfly of Delerium" in CODE VEIN is one of those. In the brand new Boss trailer from Gamescom we get a tease of the lightly dressed butterfly lady for at least 30 seconds, who by the way seems to have a pretty big mouth. The trailer doesn't reveal too much about the boss fight - which is why we don't feel the need for a spoiler warning. But if you don't want to risk it, feel free to turn away!

We also get a Behind the Scenes video that is a bit more detailed, and covers around 6 minutes of discussion about the game. How did the framework story of CODE VEIN come about? And what about the game world, how was the setting created? This is what the developers at BANDAI NAMCO Studios talk about in the new developer interview. Hiroshi Yoshimura, for example, reports that he wanted to place a vampire story in a collapsed, modern society. He wasn't so much interested in taking a break from the classic image of vampires for CODE VEIN. The action role-playing game confronts you with modern adaptations of vampires in a not so typical anime style.

Producer Keita Iizuka and Content Director Yuta Yamamoto tell us how the detailed graphics of CODE VEIN were created using the power of the Unreal Engine. The goal was an individual anime style, with a a mixture of photorealistic graphics and imaginative design. The impressive images of the destroyed city show just how imaginative this is. Yoshimura confesses to us about his strange penchant for blood. After all, he already showed that with the Blood Rage System in God Eater 3, that beautiful gameplay features can be realized with the red juice.
