What is CODE VEIN?

CODE VEIN is an upcoming Action RPG being developed and published by Bandai Namco, who have also published the popular Dark Souls series. Like Dark Souls, the game will see players taking on tough challenges as they explore a large open world filled with deadly foes and powerful bosses. CODE VEIN takes place a in a post-apocalyptic dystopian world where a mysterious disaster has ravaged the lands and brought the world to ruin. At the heart of the destruction is a hidden society of Revenants called Vein, who are blessed with gifts in exchange for their memories and a thirst for blood as they fight against the Lost. Players will be able to use special gifts by consuming blood and gain access to powerful supernatural abilities to assist them in combat.

Create your own character and choose a partner as you venture out into the world of destruction. Play Solo, or team up with another player to take on the dangers that'll stand in your way. Play as either a Male or Female character and choose various options to customise such as hairstyle, face, clothing and more to create the character that you want. Take on the deadly foes of CODE VEIN with a variety of melee and ranged weapons at your disposal (such as Axes, bayonets, spears and more) , including special weapons called "Blood Veils".

Much like other souls like games, combat involves hacking and slashing your way through areas in order to progress, and facing off against powerful bosses that will test your skills in combat. If you decide to play solo, you'll have an AI Companion to aide you in the fighting, or you can team up with another player to work together. Defeating enemies will allow players to collect XP known as "Haze" that can be used to level up and boost the stats of your character to take on even more challenging fights.

You can also gain "Gifts" that provide powerful buffs and also other offensive abilities. Players can also upgrade and customise their weapon abilities to suit their playstyle. Explore the world with a variety of locations and travel to dungeons to encounter powerful enemies to fight, but keep an eye out for secrets as they are hidden throughout the world and it'll be up to you to find them all.
