Jack O'Hara returns in Commandos: Origins
Jack O'Hara sneaks into the sequel to the cult series.
Fans of the Commandos series can rejoice: Jack O'Hara, the famous Green Beret, returns for Commandos: Origins. With new vigour for the sequel to the iconic real-time strategy game series, fresh out of boot camp. Developed by Claymore Game Studios and to be released by Kalypso Media on 9 April, the game promises to return tactical gamers to thrilling settings that made the franchise famous in the 90s.
Commandos: Origins is set to stay true to the classic mechanics of the cult series: You'll see the familiar faces of the series again, such as Jack O'Hara, the Green Beret, pioneer Thomas Hancock, sniper Francis T. Woolridge, mechanic Samuel Brooklyn, combat swimmer James Blackwood and spy René Duchamp.
All characters have been carefully recreated for Commandos: Origins, but at the same time modernised to meet today's standards. The sequel in the form of a prequel introduces several new features that enrich the gaming experience:
- Co-op Mode: For the first time in the series, Commandos: Origins offers a co-op mode where two players can work together online or on the same screen.
- Varied missions: The game features more than 10 missions in authentic World War II historical environments, from the frozen plains of the Arctic to the vast desert landscapes of Africa. Each mission features a series of primary and secondary objectives that will test your tactical finesse.
- New, precise and intuitive controls that allow you to coordinate complex actions simultaneously. This modernisation simplifies the controls without compromising the typical Commando feel.
