Crimson Desert: Charting the Unknown – lengthy preview video showcases dives, romance and the castle system
Developer Pearl Abyss is making gamers' dreams come true: With the upcoming expansion Crimson Desert: Charting the Unknown, the already massive game is about to get even bigger. A video showcases dives in the new underwater world, customizable ships, romantic relationships that can lead to marriage, and other content from the first DLC.
Crimson Desert is an open-world action-adventure game in which you primarily play as Kliff, but also as the side characters Oongka and Damiane, as you journey through the imaginative world of Pywel. There’s so much to do there that for some players, it’s actually TOO much variety. Crimson Desert is a true content powerhouse! But remember: Everything is optional—if you don’t want to explore and try everything, you can simply follow the main story and finish the game sooner.
The “Charting the Unknown” expansion will give Crimson Desert a major boost on October 29th and fill it with fresh content. For example, developer Pearl Abyss sends you on dives in a newly added underwater world: Ruins, treasure chests, new creatures, and vehicles await you there. But be careful—air is running out! With a diving suit, you can stay underwater longer. After completing a series of quests, you’ll also build your own fully customizable ship and set sail across the waters.
Romances, Castles, and Boss Battles
Three new storylines for the heroes and a sea-based story provide fresh content. You’ll forge closer bonds with the inhabitants of Pywel, embark on romances if you choose—even leading to marriage—and welcome friends to the Graymane Camp. In addition, there’s an expanded housing system, castles to conquer, take over, and furnish, rentable shops, and the Garden of Trials, where you can challenge old bosses all over again.
Some content is only unlocked after meeting certain requirements. The expansion will also be available on Gamesplanet upon release.
