Cthulhu: The Cosmic Abyss is now available—dive into the madness with the launch trailer
Cthulhu: The Cosmic Abyss is now available to play on PC. In this Lovecraftian horror adventure, you play as occult agent Noah, investigating a sunken deep-sea station.
In the year 2053, occult incidents are on the rise worldwide as corporations dig for resources in the depths of the oceans, awakening things that would have been better left in their deep (oceanic) slumber. As Noah, an agent of the secret organization Ancile—an Interpol unit specializing in occult cases—you set out to investigate. Your mission: investigate the mysterious underwater station Ocean-I, where miners have vanished without a trace. What begins as a routine investigation quickly turns into a journey to the legendary, sunken R’lyeh—a gigantic city from bygone eons where the laws of physics have simply ceased to apply to you.
Cthulhu: The Cosmic Abyss is a first-person detective game with horror elements, developed by Big Bad Wolf and published by Nacon. You won’t find any weapons here; instead, the game focuses on exploration, searching for clues, and solving complex environmental puzzles. Your only companion is Key, an AI that guides you through the labyrinth of clues, documents, and cosmic nightmares. The deeper you venture, the more Cthulhu’s influence gnaws at Noah’s mind: hallucinations, impossible visions, and distorted reality are part of everyday gameplay. Multiple endings make your decisions tangibly relevant.
A Three-Year Development Adventure
The developers at Big Bad Wolf didn’t want to miss the chance to share a few personal words for the launch:
“What a long journey it’s been since that completely crazy pitch that took us on a three-year journey… The last few months of production weren’t the easiest for the studio. The difficulties have left their mark, but that didn’t stop us from giving it our all. We’re very proud of what we’ve achieved together—and now it’s up to you to embody Noah and venture into the depths.”
Cthulhu: The Cosmic Abyss is now available for PC. If you’re looking for a narrative horror adventure with a genuine Lovecraftian vibe and would rather skip the shooting, you should give this title a try—provided your nerves can handle it.
