Darwin's Paradox is now available—the launch trailer shows the clever octopus in action
Darwin's Paradox! sneaks in: Konami and ZDT Studio send an octopus-like hero through a dangerous industrial world in a puzzle-platformer. Here's the launch trailer for today's release.
Darwin's Paradox! is now officially available for PC. Just another run-of-the-mill platformer? Not at all, because Darwin the octopus gives the game a very special touch. Publisher Konami and indie studio ZDT Studio have jointly developed an action-adventure puzzle game that visually strongly resembles an animated film, yet also has plenty of gameplay tricks up its tentacles.
An octopus in an industrial complex—that’s the premise of Darwin’s Paradox!
You control Darwin, a young octopus who has been torn from the depths of the ocean and is being held captive in a gigantic, dilapidated industrial complex. What initially seems like a mere mishap quickly turns out to be part of a far-reaching conspiracy—one that may well affect the fate of all humanity. Does that sound big? It is.
The gameplay in Darwin's Paradox skillfully alternates between classic platforming sections and tricky puzzle segments. Darwin's animal abilities—such as camouflage, swimming, and sneaking—aren't just visual gimmicks, but an integral part of the mechanics. You'll have to maneuver your way through menacing machines, strange containers, and all sorts of shady inhabitants of the complex. On top of that, there’s a story that, according to the developers, deliberately shifts between humor, suspense, and emotional moments. A promise that the game’s colorful design style at least visually backs up credibly.
