Yakuza meets Dave the Diver: Launch trailer for the new Ichiban's Holiday Content Pack
Mintrocket dares to crossover Dave the Diver with SEGA's Yakuza series - with the very special protagonist Ichiban. Ichiban himself celebrates the release of the DLC in the release trailer.
Dave the Diver is a pixel art indie game that moves between different genres (only for a few days with a 45% discount in the Sale). The game from developer and publisher Mintrocket combines adventure, management and some role-playing elements and is also funny. You slip into the diving suit of Dave, an adventurous diver. During the day, you dive in a mysterious underwater area called the Blue Hole, which is constantly changing with new fish species, dangers and secrets. At night, you and your friends run a sushi restaurant, which you supply with the ingredients from your dives.
A dazzling character from another game series will be holidaying at the Blue Hole in the future: Ichiban Kasuga, one of the central characters in SEGA's Yakuza series. At least if you buy and install the (inexpensive) expansion Dave the Diver: Ichiban's Holiday. According to Mintrocket, this content pack will only be available for a limited time - until 9 October 2025, when Ichiban's holiday in Dave the Diver's diving paradise ends.
Although you can't really even call it a holiday. The situation at the Blue Hole escalates quickly and you have to team up with Ichiban to defeat enemies and win mini-games (a speciality of the Yakuza series). For today's release, Mintrocket has published a release trailer in which Ichiban warbles into the microphone for you. After all, the man is not only a skilled fighter, but also an experienced karaoke master - as those of you who have played at least one of the Yakuza or Like a Dragon games with Ichiban will probably know.
