DOOM: The Dark Ages coming May 15th, New Gameplay Footage

Rip and tear as the legendary first person series DOOM returns later this year on May 15th with DOOM: The Dark Ages. Take a look at 10 minutes of new gameplay footage while you wait and pre-order for bonuses!

It's been almost 5 years since DOOM Eternal and later this year Bethesd and ID Software ramp up the carnage with DOOM: The Dark Ages on May 15th. Set as a prequel to DOOM this new entry takes players back to a medieval war against Hell.

In the last two titles of the series it was about movement, and this time around players will be more grounded as they're equipped with the Shield Saw, a powerful weapon that's capable of being thrown Captain America style, or by blocking/parrying attacks. Of course the shield is merely one instrument at your disposal as the franchise is best known for over the top weapons, and the latest DOOM doesn't disappoint. Players will have returning favourites such as the Shotgun, but newcomers including the Rail Spike that can pin enemies to walls, or the Skullcrusher, which can superheat bone shards from the battlefield.

Want even more mayhem? For the first time ever you'll be able to ride a huge 30 story mech, or even a Dragon that's capable of breathing fire and use boosters to gain momentum. It's clear that they threw everything and the kitchen sink at this third entry with no restraint. You'll also be able to customise your experience with a number of sliders that can change the game, whether that's increasing the parry window, or by slowing/speeding up the entire game.

DOOM: The Dark Ages launches May 15th 2025. You can pre-order the Standard Edition to get the Void DOOM Slayer Skin at launch. For those who want to blast demons earlier you can pre-order the Deluxe Edition, which in addition to also including the Void DOOM Slayer Skin, will also let you play 2 days earlier. Deluxe owners will also get access to a Campaign DLC (info to be revealed later), as well a Digital Artbook, Soundtrack, and Divinity Skin Pack.
