Dragon Ball Xenoverse 3 Officially Announced - Trailer Shows New World in the Year 1000
Dragon Ball Xenoverse 3 is finally official: Bandai Namco unveils the third installment of the action-RPG series with a first trailer—the game is set to release in 2027.
Nearly a decade after the launch of Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2, Bandai Namco pulled the next installment of the series out of its hat at the Dragon Ball Games Battle Hour 2026 in Los Angeles—and the community is likely to be collectively thrilled. Dragon Ball Xenoverse 3 is coming in 2027 to transport you to the year 1000. The title is once again being developed by Dimps, who have been on board since the first Dragon Ball Xenoverse.
After nearly a decade of waiting—Xenoverse 3 is here
Instead of replaying familiar sagas for the umpteenth time, this time you’ll be transported to the year 1000—an era set long after the events of the classic Dragon Ball series. The Western Capital is the vibrant heart of this new world, offering a lively game environment full of fresh characters and untold stories that, according to Bandai Namco, are based on original designs by Dragon Ball creator Akira Toriyama.
In Dragon Ball Xenoverse 3, you’re a member of the Great Saiyan Squad, fighting alongside familiar faces and new allies as events unfold in this unknown world. Just like in the previous games, character creation is clearly the focus: you decide for yourself what kind of hero you want to be in this Dragon Ball universe.
Xenoverse 2 is also coming to a close
To coincide with the announcement of Part 3, Bandai Namco has also signaled the end of Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2: Future Saga Chapter 4 will be the final DLC chapter of the action RPG, which has been running since 2016, and is set to release in summer 2026. One era is coming to an end—a new one is beginning. Further details on Xenoverse 3 are expected to follow in the coming months. We’ll keep you updated.
