E3 2019: Dragon Ball Project Z becomes Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot, out early 2020!
Earlier this year Bandai Namco announced a brand new Dragon Ball game was in the works under the name "Project Z". Today at E3 2019 we got another look at the upcoming action RPG, which is now known as "Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot". Like the name implies, Kakarot retells the story of Dragon Ball Z as the Saiyan Goku struggles against foes and ascends to new levels. In the new trailer we see some of our hero's greatest foes including Vegeta and Frieza. While we don't get to see much from the gameplay, there's a few shots of how battles work with 3D movement and dodging mechanics similar to Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2.
The game will see Goku start from the beginning of the Z series as he goes from the start of Saiyan Saga to the the end of the Buu Saga. It's unclear how much of the game will require exploration and who will be included in the game, but we're hoping that there's a large world filled of activities for players to take part in.
Originally set to launch this year, Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot has been moved back and will now be launching in Early 2020 for PC, Xbox One and PS4.
