A new nightmare: Deep of Night game mode in Elden Ring Nightreign
With Deep of Night, Elden Ring Nightreign expands its endgame with an especially tough mode. The High-Difficulty Mode introduces stronger enemies, new relics, and a progression system that makes expeditions even more dangerous.
The new game mode of Elden Ring Nightreign, Deep of Night, becomes available once the Nightlord Night Aspect has been defeated. When starting an expedition afterward, players won’t know which Nightlord they’ll face until the beginning. The usual Shifting Earth conditions do not apply in this mode.
Tougher enemies and new relics
In Deep of Night, so-called Variants appear — enhanced versions of familiar enemies, recognizable by a red shimmer. There are also Depths Relics, which can only be used in this mode.
These relics grant new abilities but also come with negative effects. In addition, three new relic slots are available to make builds more flexible.
The mode uses a rating and depth system: with each defeated Nightlord, the rating increases, making expeditions more difficult. Enemies become tougher, and certain key points on the map may no longer be displayed.
Furthermore, the Nightlord remains hidden until the final phase in some expeditions. In multiplayer, players with similar depth levels are matched together. There’s also a chance that Everdark Sovereigns may appear during an expedition, adding extra threats to the game.
Deep of Night is now live in Elden Ring Nightreign.
