Fallout 76: “The Backwoods” update available today with legendary loot and many new features

Starting March 3 (that’s today), Fallout 76 receives the free update “The Backwoods,” and fans are already over the moon. The free patch brings new creatures, revamped events, and fresh loot.

Today, Fallout 76 opens its gates to “The Backwoods.” The free update confronts you with new encounters in Appalachia, including the legendary Bigfoot, who also promises “Bigloot.” Alongside him roam other mysterious creatures stalking the forests. Anyone venturing into the wilderness should be well equipped — which is why the update also introduces new supportive armor sets.

The developer preview featuring Creative Director Jon Rush walks you through the patch’s features. Public events have been reworked, and in-game activities have been adjusted to offer even more opportunities for exploration and teamplay in Fallout 76. At the same time, the new Fallout season “Rip Daring and the Cryptids from Outer Space” launches, unlocking themed rewards for players.
