Far Cry 5 coming Feb 27th 2018, New Trailers and Details
Far Cry 5 takes us to Montana, Hope County where all hell is about to break loose with a cult who believes doomsday is upon us. Find out new details from the upcoming open world shooter that is coming to PC, Xbox One and PS4 on February 27th 2018.
When we first heard a Far Cry game would be arriving it was a welcome announcement, since we've been without a Far Cry game since 2016's Far Cry Primal which didn't really live up to it's potential and fans were left a little disappointed. Fortunately the wait is over and the next Far Cry game will be arriving early next year with the release of Far Cry 5, which takes the franchise to the US Hope County in Montana. You will play as Sherriff's deputy, who must prevent cult leader Joseph who believes that an impending collapse of the government is imminent. His Brothers, Jacob and John and their half-sister, Faith will also be helping Joseph to spread the word and may be an obstacle, you will not be alone though and will meet a set of characters who are ready to stand up for what they believe in.
The map editor (which was in previous games) is making it's return, with new features that Ubisoft plans to reveal soon.
Players can make their own resistance to fend off the cult, taking the fight to various farms, forests, mountains and rivers of the stunning Montana. You will be able to get various vehicles including American muscle cars, big rigs, ATVs, boats, and planes. If that wasn't enough, you can explore the wilds and see various wildlife (will we be using them to upgrade weapons yet again?). Meeting new groups will allow you to recruit them to your cause and help aid in the war with the cult.
Additionally, Ubisoft have given us a glimpse into some of the character we'll be meeting in Montana (who may or may not be Co-op characters you will play as). First up there's Mary May Fairgrave, a bartender who has been in Hope County all her live and now tends to serving drinks to the locals. Her family was taken from her and she vows to make amends by defending the place she loves, no one is taking that from her.
Next is Pastor Jerome Jeffries, a holy man who is driven to protect his parish by becoming the shepherd to stop threats from taking his flock. Lastly we meet Nick Rye, a pilot who is a soon to be dad and wants his child to fly the plane he loves so much - but he's not going to let anyone get in the way of his plane or his family.
Co-op will be another big thing in Far Cry 5, these may or may not be character that we'll end up being within the game. At the very least, we'll be seeing them during our travels. As yet we do not know much about the game's main character that you will be playing as, other than the fact that he (or she?) is the Sherriff's deputy.
