Fogpiercer: Release Date Set—The Roguelike Journey Begins in July
Fogpiercer, the roguelike deck-builder featuring a speeding train, launches in Early Access on July 17, 2026. Mad Cookies Studio and Hooded Horse send you on a journey through a post-apocalyptic, fog-shrouded world aboard this seemingly unstoppable train.
In Fogpiercer, you take on the role of an engineer steering your train through a world engulfed in deadly fog. What makes it unique: Your train is also your card deck. Each locomotive, each car, and each driver comes with their own cards and abilities, which you can expand through upgrades and new attachments.
Turn-Based Battles on the Rails
Battles are turn-based and grid-based, with the train at the center of the battlefield. Or rather, it rolls through it almost unstoppably. With clever card play and chained combos, you steer hordes of bandits into environmental hazards, push them off cliffs, or right in front of your train’s rolling wheels. A limited number of action points per round adds tactical depth—after all, you’re usually outnumbered.
Roguelite Structure with Meta-Progression
As is typical for the genre, you navigate through a branching overworld map featuring various events and encounters. If a run fails, your progress isn’t lost: Through meta-progression, you permanently unlock new locomotives, cars, and drivers, making future attempts easier.
With the release date now confirmed for July 17, 2026, you can mark the day on your calendar. If you want to get a sneak peek, a demo is now available to play as part of Steam Next Fest (link on our store page).
