Red Dead Redemption comes to GTA V in Fan created mod!

Modders bringing an updated version Red Dead Redemption to PC with the help of the GTA V Engine!

We all know that GTA V is a great game, but what about the hiddem gem Red Dead Redemption which only console players have had the pleasure of playing? Later this year the console owners will be able to head into the wild west yet again as a sequel to Red Dead Redemption arrives, but PC players are still left in the dark as neither original or the sequel is available on PC yet. That's going to change though as a talented bunch are set to deliver an updated version of the game for PC using the GTA V engine. The project known as RDR V aims to be as true to the original game as it can be while also maintaining a visual jump that the new engine can offer.

The FAQ for the upcoming mod explains that the game will include a multiplayer mode, that will be ran by a third party client but not via GTA Online itself (which isn't surprising if they want to avoid getting players banned). Development has already started and is progressing nicely, Red Dead Redemption V will aim to stay as close to the original as possible with the added sparkle of the GTA V engine's gorgeous graphics. The basic framework for the game is already finished, and Team White is currently working on fine-tuning and optimization though it's still a long way from finished.

They're still seeking support for this project as it's a large challenge that may take some time to fully build on the dream, but anyone who is looking to make it happen is welcome to offer their services (provided you can help that is). For more info on the project you can check out the GTAForums.com post.

A release date for the finished Red Dead Redemption V (or RDR V as it's being called) is not yet available, but they are targetting a beta release for Summer 2017. Plus a teaser trailer will be releasing very soon that should showcase off the title in motion, and hopefully scratch the itch while we wait for Red Dead Redepmtion 2 to make an appearance on PC.
