Heart Abyss launch trailer: Be a fox and treat yourself to this platformer
Bargain hunters, listen up, because Heart Abyss is here! This affordable 2D action platformer featuring the fox-Jinko Leon lets you perform fast and brutal moves that, set in a 2D pixel world, are reminiscent of classic run-and-fight games in their heyday.
In Heart Abyss, you play as Leon, a Jinko – half-human, half-fox. His ancestors once saved the human realm from the demon Yokai. He himself remembers nothing but the walls of his prison, but now the collar has been destroyed. For around a hundred years, the kingdom has been oppressing magical beings, and there is no trace of the Jinko. Worse still: Leon’s sister is missing. So he sets out on a quest, unravels many secrets, and whether he saves the kingdom once again or plunges it into chaos remains to be seen.
Standing still? Not in this game
In the battles in Heart Abyss, the rule is: if you slow down, you lose. Leon drains life energy from enemies in the thick of the fray and uses it to replenish his reserves for magical abilities. Thanks to his Qi reserves, you can unleash bolts of lightning, fire energy projectiles and even create a small singularity. A fox with a degree in physics, so to speak. And this agile fox keeps on dishing out blows with his fists and feet – until the blood spatters. Don’t be fooled by this furry creature’s harmless appearance.
Your journey takes you from the capital to a temple of death in snow-capped mountains. Along the way, you’ll encounter humans and mythical creatures from Japanese mythology. Imperial foes will feel the sharp edge of the katana, whilst torii gates and cherry blossoms contribute to an atmospheric backdrop. Heart Abyss is developed by Deadmap and published by HeroCraft PC.
