The long-awaited comeback of a strategy legend is here. Developer Unfrozen and publisher Hooded Horse are opening the gates to the continent of Jadame today—a setting that has been mentioned in the HOMM series but has never been playable until now. Six factions are available for the Early Access launch of Heroes of Might and Magic: Olden Era: Temple, Dungeon, Schism, Grove, Necropolis, and Hive—each with its own units, heroes, and abilities. Also included: the first act of the campaign, in which rival factions join forces to fight the Hive, an insectoid swarm army corrupted by a demon lord. Plus, there are three game modes (Classic, One-Hero, and Arena), a random map generator, co-op and multiplayer options, and a map editor.
Heroes of Might and Magic: Olden Era is a turn-based strategy RPG that brings the classic HoMM gameplay into the modern era. You guide heroes across a map featuring various strategically placed locations, gather resources, expand cities, and recruit armies of mythical creatures. As soon as combat begins, the game shifts to hexagonal battlefields—just as fans know and love from the legendary third installment. Units now come equipped with active special abilities, heroes can be developed through faction-specific talent trees, and artifact sets grant bonuses when you equip multiple pieces from a series. The result: tactical depth paired with modern convenience and a soundtrack created by none other than Paul Anthony Romero, Cris Velasco, and the Heroes Orchestra.
Enjoy HOMM: Olden Era, strategists!
