John Carpenter's Toxic Commando: new gameplay video featuring co-op action, classes, and vehicles

John Carpenter's Toxic Commando is presented in a new gameplay overview video from Focus Entertainment. The publisher shows you how co-op shootouts, zombie hordes, and vehicles interact.

With a fresh gameplay overview video, John Carpenter's Toxic Commando provides a detailed insight into the action horror game from Saber Interactive and Focus Entertainment, which will be released on March 12. Toxic Commando focuses on uncompromising co-op combat for up to four players and sends you as a mercenary squad into a game world overrun by mutations.

At the heart of Toxic Commando is cooperative combat against huge zombie swarms, rendered using the in-house Swarm engine. The missions take you through several missions in a semi-open environment where waves of enemies constantly put you under pressure. In addition to classic gunplay, mobility plays a central role: vehicles are not only used for fast travel, but also as deadly tools to literally run over the undead.

You have a wide arsenal at your disposal for the carnage. A total of 16 main weapon types and various close-range and long-range combat options cover everything from shotguns and submachine guns to precision rifles, machetes, and crowbars. This is complemented by four different classes: Strike, Medic, Operator, and Defender. Each role has its own abilities, making team composition and cooperation crucial.

You can play Toxic Commando either via matchmaking or in private lobbies with friends. Thanks to full cross-play, players from all platforms can team up. If you want to try it out in advance, you'll have the opportunity to do so: a limited-time demo will be available on Steam from February 19th to March 2nd.
