Mad Television Tycoon: TV Tycoon Simulation Launches in Early Access on April 9
Mad TV, or rather Mad Television Tycoon by Eggcode, is back! As the head of a TV network, you’ll build a TV empire, plan the programming, and sabotage the competition.
Finally, some good TV programming? Mad Television Tycoon by Eggcode is a business simulation where you turn a pathetic small-time station into a nationwide TV giant. You put together schedules from thousands of movies, series, and shows, secure lucrative advertising deals, and buy new broadcast towers to expand your reach.
Unfair play is allowed
If you want to play fair, you can, but you don’t have to. Mad Television Tycoon lets you actively sabotage the competition. On top of that, there are original productions, unlockable licenses, and a multiplayer mode for up to three players. An editable database also makes it possible to bring your own content into the game. The Early Access launch is scheduled for April 9, 2026.
Anyone who grew up with TV station simulation games might be familiar with the original from the dawn of the genre: Mad TV by Rainbow Arts, released in 1991 for MS-DOS and Amiga, is still considered a cult classic of the genre today. Back then, German developer Ralph Stock created a real-time business simulation in which you, as the newly appointed program director of a run-down station, put together broadcast schedules, secure advertising contracts, and block or sabotage the competition in the same skyscraper—all in real time, with sharp-tongued humor and real movie licenses.
The trade press celebrated the game at the time for its ingenious concept, and several sequels like Mad TV 2 or M.U.D. TV never really managed to surpass the original. With Mad Television Tycoon, Eggcode is now making a fresh attempt in this long-neglected niche market, reaching a fanbase that has been waiting for exactly this kind of game for decades.
