Mafia: The Old Country - 2K introduces new main character Enzo with Game Awards trailer

Publisher 2K presented Mafia: The Old Country with a fresh trailer at the Game Awards 2024. The trailer does not give an exact release date, but shows the new protagonist Enzo.

If you wanted to join the Sicilian underworld in the 1900s, you often had to renounce your own family and swear allegiance to a new one, the Mafia. Mafia: The Old Country follows the career of Enzo Favara, who was presented as the new main character in a trailer at this year's Game Awards. With The Old Country from publisher 2K and developed by Hangar 13, an established crime saga is being continued - and expectations are correspondingly high.

Mafia: The Old Country will be a narrative experience in which the linear story takes centre stage in a cinematically presented game. Immerse yourself in the criminal underworld of old Sicily and look forward to a thrilling combat system with deadly gunfights between members of organised crime. With this announcement, 2K also points to realistic stealth gameplay that should loosen up the exploration and action scenes.

Enzo operates in a time when feuds were often fought with knives and sawn-off shotguns.Diplomacy? Oh, peace, joy and pancakes is no fun.As a survivor of forced labour in the sulphur mines of Sicily, Enzo seems to have been hardened early on. So joining Don Torrisi's criminal clan is not a bad idea. The only question is whether he will feel connected to the Torrisi family later on in the game. There will certainly be one or two twists and turns in the story-based Mafia: The Old Country.Nick Baynes, President of Hangar 13, explains the approach to developing the game:
