No Man's Sky: Worlds Part 2 Update 5.5 - Out Now!

Hello Games has released a new video for No Man's Sky, in which founder Sean Murray talks about the contents of the 5.5 update in the latest free update for the game that gives it a facelift.

New planets and reworked biomes

One of the most striking new features are gas giants. These giant planets are characterised by strong atmospheric pressure, enormous gravity and volatile atmospheres and are orbited by a series of moons. In addition, the existing biomes have been further reworked so that the flora and fauna appear even more realistic. This should make each world more unique and alive.

Improved graphics and atmosphere

Murry explains that the visualisation of water surfaces has been significantly improved. In addition, clouds, fog and celestial bodies are now realistically reflected in the water. Some planets will even glow with sea foam, making the atmosphere even more impressive.

New game mechanics and improvements

A practical new feature is the inventory sorting function, which allows you to sort items by name, type, value or colour at the touch of a button. Environmental threats such as drifting clouds of toxic spores, radioactive fallout and volcanic eruptions have also been introduced to provide additional challenges.

For players looking for a more solitary experience, there is now an ‘Abandoned Mode’ in which all alien life forms are removed. So if you prefer to explore planets completely alone and in peace - the time has come!

Update 5.5 enriches No Man's Sky with a wealth of new content and improvements that make the universe even more diverse and vibrant. It's simply amazing what Hello Games have done with the game.
