City-building, clan-based brawler Northgard Battlegrounds: Early Access launches on 27 October

According to the announcement trailer, Northgard Battlegrounds from Shiro Games is set to enter Early Access on October 27th. Ahead of this, a demo and a new gameplay overview are available.

Developed by Funday Games (known for Deep Rock Galactic: Survivor), Northgard Battlegrounds combines strategy with auto-battler mechanics. You choose a clan such as Raven, Stag or Wolf and expand your settlement round by round. Where you place production facilities, barracks and places of worship determines the strength of your warband. Added to this are blessings from Odin, Baldr and Thor, as well as fate cards for powerful builds. Battles run automatically and take place asynchronously against other players. You plan; your Vikings do the fighting.

Alongside the announcement of the Early Access launch date, publisher Shiro Games has also highlighted the upcoming demo version. For those who want to try out Northgard Battlegrounds before buying: the multi-phase demo launches on October 6th, coinciding with the Steam Next Fest, which starts a few days later. Early Access follows on October 27th for PC.
