Onimusha: Way of the Sword - Game Director Showcased Gameplay at Capcom Spotlight
In the Capcom Spotlight on June 25, 2026, Director Satoru Nihei personally showcased gameplay from Onimusha: Way of the Sword, confirmed the release date, and exclusively introduced a new Genma (demon boss).
Onimusha: Way of the Sword is an action-adventure game focused on sword fighting, set in Kyoto during the early Edo period—albeit in a version steeped in dark fantasy. You take on the role of the samurai Miyamoto Musashi, who has returned after his death at the hands of the Genma, imbued with oni powers, and has since been searching for his own reason to fight.

Director Nihei confirmed the PC release of Onimusha: Way of the Sword for September 25, 2026, during the Spotlight event and showed the battle against the powerful boss Genma Dohatsu-ten for the first time. The game offers two modes: a story-driven mode and a challenging sword-fighting mode for hardcore players.
A demo is already available on Steam—anyone who plays it and later provides the corresponding save data via Steam will receive a bonus talisman for the main game. This also works with Steam keys from Gamesplanet, which are now available for pre-order with bonuses.
