Pragmata relies on DLSS 4 and path tracing: NVIDIA confirms technology upgrade for the PC version
Pragmata is getting a major graphics upgrade on PC: NVIDIA and Capcom confirm full path tracing and DLSS 4. A new video shows the technology in action.
Together with NVIDIA, Capcom has revealed new details about the PC version of Pragmata. The sci-fi action game will not simply launch with “just” ray tracing, but goes one step further: its lighting is (optionally) based on full path tracing. This allows the game to calculate light, shadows, and reflections far more precisely, resulting in a particularly realistic overall image. Could this even include muzzle-flash shadows?
To ensure that the high visual quality does not come at the expense of performance, Pragmata on PC supports DLSS 4. The latest version of NVIDIA’s upscaling technology is designed to enable high frame rates even at maximum graphics settings. Alongside this, a new video featuring before-and-after comparisons has been released, demonstrating the engine’s technical capabilities and offering insights from the developers.
In terms of content, Pragmata remains true to its unusual approach: you explore an abandoned lunar research station in the near future. After contact with Earth is lost, astronaut Hugh Williams and the android Diana become embroiled in a conflict with a hostile AI that controls the facility. What makes the gameplay special is its core concept: you control both characters simultaneously. Diana uses hacking to expose enemy weak points, while Hugh eliminates them with precision. A tactical two-in-one combat system in single-player.
The release of Pragmata is scheduled for April 24. On Steam, the “Sketchbook” demo is already available, allowing you to get an early impression of the game’s style, technology, and performance.
