PRAGMATA Review Score Round Up

Capcom has (once again) hit the mark with its new brand. Pragmata currently holds a score of 88 out of 100 on Metacritic—a very strong result. Here’s an overview of the review scores.

After initial delays and the resulting skepticism among gamers, Pragmata ultimately held its own in reviews by the trade press. An 88 on Metacritic (PC scores)—many other studios can only dream of that. The release is on April 17. Let’s take a look at how the review sites reacted to the action-adventure featuring the two protagonists, Hugh and Diana.

In the review from PCGamer, they awarded the game an impressive 87/100, "Pragmata's confidence in its punchy shootouts and old-school cool pays off, and the two leads roved their way into my heart despite a predictable plot." With a tighter focus on tight action and less about big open worlds the game is able to shine through with it's Sci-Fi setting, and the unique hacking elements add an extra tactical layer that you can play around with to ensure you're tackling enemies based on their role. For example, you may want to hack enemies in the air and bring them down to the ground by freezing their movement. Or maybe you want to confuse enemies to help you fight for a bit!

Meanwhile over at EuroGamer, it was given an almost perfect 4/5. "Emboldened by years of success, Capcom's risky 360-era shooter dares to tackle sci-fi shooter convention in a proudly experimental gamble." Obviously the action and world takes a spotlight, but so does the relationship you build between Diana and Hugh, each of which getting to know the other as they work together to take down enemies and make it to Earth.
