Prey - Overview for ASUS Join the Republic Event

Set foot on the Talos I Space Station as Morgan Yu, if you dare!

What is Prey?

Prey is a first person action game set aboard the Talos I Space Station, you will play as Morgan Yu who has to travel there in order to stop a growing threat from overtaking the Station and making it's way to Earth. Experiments are being conducted on the hostile alien race known as the Typhon, but things don't quite go to plan and it's not long before you're having to deal with their kind. The game will be a first person action game that will let players explore the station in an "open world" type setting, much like the Batman - Arkham games with an emphasis on metroidvania style backtracking/progression.

At your disposal you can expect various weapons and powers, such as the ability to Mimic Objects such as a Coffee Mug or even a Space Banana! Your powers will be based on the Typhon, so as you encounter more varied species of them you will get new powers that can help out Morgan in their journey. As the game is set aboard a space station you can expect Zero Gravity moments that will offer up new ways to explore. The game will also allow you to make decisions that can change the game and ultimately affect the ending of the story.

Originally, Prey was a first person game that released way back in 2006, but has since been rebooted and will now be worked on by Arkane Studios (who have previously created titles such as the Dishonored series and Dark Messiah of Might and Magic. Before Arkane Studios started on their version of Prey, a sequel known as "Prey 2" was being worked on by Human Head Studios (who had done work on most of the game) before it was eventually cancelled last year, a few months later at E3 2016 the reboot was announced.

ASUS - Join the Republic Live Gaming Event

Prey is one of the games taking part in the ASUS - Join the Republic Live Gaming Event that is taking place in Berlin on April 1st. The eSport team Ninja in Pajamas will also be competing in various gaming matches with the community. During a press conference, ASUS will also present the latest hardware.
