Project Motor Racing rolls out of the garage with Update 2.0: a new career mode, improved physics, and a revamped UI

With Update 2.0, Project Motor Racing shifts into high gear. The developers are delivering a comprehensive package of gameplay improvements, technical tweaks, and new features—accompanied by a fresh trailer.

At the heart of Update 2.0 for Project Motor Racing is a completely redesigned user interface. Menus have been made significantly clearer and faster, while new tooltips provide helpful guidance, particularly for vehicle setup and force feedback. The vehicle selection screen now also provides more information at a glance. The update comes just in time, as the Project Motor Racing: Japanese GT500 Pack is set to release next week—you can pre-order it now on Gamesplanet to save 15% off and get your Steam key instantly. The DLC will be released on March 31 and adds new cars from the Japanese GT500 class to the game.

The multiplayer mode in Project Motor Racing has also been significantly expanded. Improved anti-cheat systems, optimized race mechanics, and new ways to report incidents are designed to ensure fairer online races. The revamped license point system rewards clean driving more heavily. Starting April 1, all vehicle classes—including DLCs—will also be integrated into Ranked Mode.

The career mode has also been fundamentally overhauled. Instead of a loose sequence of events, you can now expect a structured career path with sponsors, presentations, podium ceremonies, and a clear goal: to build a long-term racing career.

Especially important for sim fans: the driving dynamics have been extensively expanded. New tire models and optimized vehicle physics deliver a significantly more authentic driving experience—including revamped classes like GT, GTE, and the Mazda MX-5 Cup. Additionally, the update introduces new HUD tools such as the ECU widget for real-time telemetry data and an FFB widget for fine-tuning force feedback. You can read the complete patch notes on the game’s official blog.

Don't have the base game yet? You can save 55% off until April 10th!
