The recently released Resident Evil 2 has been impressing critics and gamers alike, with not only the improved gameplay, but also on the updated graphics from the classic 1998 original. This time around the game is swapping to a third person over-the-shoulder camera (like Resident Evil 4) and more open areas to explore. Our graphics comparison channel PixelPerfect is back with an exciting look at the survival horror remake to see how the game looks at 4k using the "High" and "Low" presets. On the Lowest preset it's still impressive to see some visual details stand out, including detailed Zombies and various other details. Though there are bound to be compromises as you'll see with muddier textures and some shimmer with lower Anti-aliasing.
For those using the High preset, the Ant-Aliasing is cleaned up and the rough edges get smoothed out for a cleaner presentation overall. You'll also notice the Shadow, Particles and Light effects getting improved quality as you jump between the two - though you won't miss much if you're playing on the Lowest setting. Certain things like Bloom on Low are missing a bit of detail compared to High, but you're still getting a detailed game either way.
