Sacred 2 Remaster: Return to Ancaria. According to the developer, this is just the beginning

Sacred 2 Remaster marks the comeback of one of Germany's most famous action RPGs, set for release on November 11th 2025. According to developer Franz Stradal, the new edition could be the start of a major revival for the series.

In the new official dev talk video for Sacred 2 Remaster, experienced developer Franz Stradal explains that they want to ‘revive Sacred’ and still have many ideas for the future of the brand. Although he did not mention any specific plans for new games or spin-offs, he hinted in the clip that the team does not consider Sacred's game world Ancaria to be a finished story.

After years of silence, this seems like a new beginning. The series is in dire need of one, as it has been virtually dormant since Sacred 3 was released in 2014. It was only after the brand was taken over by publisher THQ Nordic that hopes for a comeback began to sprout. That now seems to be becoming a reality, and Sacred 2 Remaster is just the starting point.

The remaster will be released on 11 November. All expansions are included in the new edition from the outset. Here is an overview of the features of Sacred 2 Remaster:

PC players can also look forward to an online co-op mode, while the console version is initially tailored for solo adventures, according to the developers. Numerous bugs and balancing issues that caused the original to receive low ratings in reviews are also said to have been ironed out in the remaster.
