Early voyage ahead: Astragon has announced the Early Access launch for the upcoming ship simulation Seafarer: The Ship Sim with a new trailer. The signal to cast off will sound at the end of October.
Raise the sails, take the helm, and complete contracts for different factions. In Seafarer: The Ship Sim, you’ll command everything from tugboats to massive cargo vessels. Whether you’re tackling missions in Story Mode or enjoying the freedom of Quick Play, each journey offers new surprises.
As expected from a simulation, you’ll be transporting goods across the seas — but Astragon’s Ship Sim adds extra variety. At times, you might receive distress calls and rush out as a firefighting vessel to handle emergencies at sea. Or you can simply set off to explore the vast open world — with few limits on shaping your own maritime adventure.

The expansive map, inspired by Northern European coastal scenery, features ports, cities, and diverse sights for maritime enthusiasts. Thanks to NVIDIA WaveWorks 2.0 and Unreal Engine 5, waves, weather effects, and sunrises appear strikingly realistic — often bordering on the picturesque. While simulations are not always known for high-end visuals, Seafarer stands out with its beautiful presentation. After all, it’s the Ship Sim — not just any ship sim. And with the in-game character editor, you can create your ideal seafaring captain, adding a personal touch to your voyages.
