[E3 2018] Dark Souls devs next game is Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice, Out Spring 2019
Activision teams up with the Dark Souls creators From Software to create Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice, a new action adventure game set in Sengoku Japan during the 1500's. Launches in Spring 2019 for PC, Xbox One and PS4.
During Sony's E3 2018 Press Conference gamers around the world were treated to a few surprises, one of them was the reveal of a brand new title from the team at From Software who are teaming up with Activision to bring Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice to PC, Xbox One and PS4 in Spring 2019. Set in the late 1500's Sengoku Japan you'll play as the “one-armed wolf”, a disgraced warrior rescued from the brink of death. Your task is to protect a young lord who is descended from an ancient bloodline and must prevent deadly enemies from harming them. When they are captured it falls on you to seek out and rescue them to regain your honour.
In this brand new gameplay clip we've treated to a taste of the action we can expect and it's very Dark Souls-esque, with big large open spaces, huge boss fights and plenty of sword action that would make any samurai proud. You'll be able to unleash deadly tools and channel your inner ninja to deliver some powerful abilities. The game also has some stealth mechanics and even be able to move through the air with various movement options including a grapple to allow the player to reach out of reach areas.
We're curious to see what From Software and Activision will deliver, we already know that they are capable of producing some highly immersive games with Dark Souls and Bloodbourne so we'd expect Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice to also be a stunning game. We'll have to wait until Spring 2019 to get our hands on it though!
