Shadow Labyrinth: You've never experienced Pac-Man like this before
A 2D action platformer with Pac-Man, but Pac-Man isn't the main character for once? Bandai Namco's Shadow Labyrinth tests out how the yellow eater copes with Metroidvania elements.
The Pac-Man in Shadow Labyrinth is actually a kind of original. The Pac-Man OG, so to speak, which almost bears the yellow ball's original name: Puck, in reference to "Puck Man", which made its debut on a Namco arcade machine in 1980. In the 2D sidescroller Shadow Labyrinth, which will be released on July 18, you control the swordsman No. 8 - and Puck always stays with him as a useful floating sidekick. You have been resurrected by Puck and chosen to break all resistance on an alien planet under Puck's will. Shadow Labyrinth is a platform game with Metroidvania elements.
Bandai Namco has not abandoned all good spirits. On the contrary: as in Pac-Man, ghosts will also play a major role in Shadow Labyrinth. You'll fight nasty monsters and even consume the odd ghost that happens upon you. But beware, they can also take on a boss format.
Some gameplay scenes can be seen in the new pre-order trailer for Shadow Labyrinth. They were recorded with a Switch 2, but with a resolution of 4K at 60 FPS, the game shouldn't differ too much from the PC version.
