When it comes to Star Wars, most people think of Lightsabers, Jedi, or Gonk Droids - but thanks to the introduction of the 1999 movie prequel Star Wars Episode 1: The Phantom Menace, we got introduced to a new type of racing. Pod Racing. Since the movie came out many fans were waiting for a chance to get a taste of that action and a few months later Star Wars Episode I: Racer was released for PC and the N64. It would eventually be released on multiple platforms over the years and to this day remains one of the best Star Wars games ever released. However attempts to bring a sequel to that failed as games like Star Wars Racer Revenge or the dreaded Star Wars Super Bombad Racing didn't reach the audience and were given low critic scores.

Now 27 years after the release of Episode 1 Racer comes Star Wars: Galactic Racer, which is being made by the team at Fuse Games, which is made up of staff who worked on the Burnout and Need for Speed series. Galactic Racer doesn't just feature podracing, but also other vehicles like landspeeders and speeder bikes.

Players will take part in a series of roguelike events, as they progress and upgrade their racer to make it even better on the track. Of course each run will be different and you may have to experiment with your creation between runs. Unlike recent racing games, everything that happens on the track cannot be undone and you'll need to learn with not being able to rewind certain moments. This provides a sense of thrill as you continually adapt to the situation and manage your loadout. Crash into enemies and send them flying, but be careful as one wrong move may also result in crashing yourself into walls. Climb the rank and earn rewards in solo modes, and also multiplayer modes as you battle against others in PVP matches.
