Capcom reveals Street Fighter 6 and the Capcom Fighting Collection
Prepare for fighting as developer and publisher Capcom has not only announced Street Fighter 6, but also a Capcom Fighting Collection with 10 beat 'em ups coming later this year.
Kick ass, but only virtually, please: Capcom released the first teaser trailer for the upcoming Street Fighter 6 at the season finale of the Capcom Pro Tour. The sequel in the established martial arts series is eagerly awaited by fans, even though Street Fighter 5 is still extremely popular. Don't expect any gameplay scenes or other details from the teaser for now - for now, the developers are just giving us render scenes.
The short trailer drags series protagonists Ryu and Luke in front of the camera. Luke - as the last added fighter from Street Fighter 5 - will take an important role in Street Fighter 6, writes Capcom in the official blog post. For now, Capcom is not providing any further details, including a release date for Street Fighter 6. Expect them to share more later this year in Summer 2022. That wasn't the only news to come out though!
Capcom Fighting Collection comes with these beat 'em up classics.
Capcom will serve us no less than 10 beat 'em up classics with the Capcom Fighting Collection on June 24th 2022 including two Darkstalkers titles with enhanced features, such as an online rollback netcode for all titles. For the gaming market in the West, the Darkstalkers games are new additions.
These games are said to be included in the Capcom Fighting Collection:.
- Darkstalkers: The Night Warriors
- Night Warriors: Darkstalkers' Revenge
- Vampire Savior: The Lord of Vampire
- Vampire Hunter 2: Darkstalkers' Revenge
- Vampire Savior 2: The Lord of Vampire
- Red Earth
- Cyberbots: Fullmetal Madness
- Super Gem Fighter Mini Mix
- Super Puzzle Fighter II Turbo
- Hyper Street Fighter II
For the first time, Red Earth is leaving the arcades and will be part of a game collection for PC. Games like Vampire Hunter 2: Darkstalkers' Revenge and Vampire Savior 2: The Lord of Vampire were previously reserved for the Japanese gaming market only. Fans should be especially pleased with the inclusion of Hyper Street Fighter 2: The Anniversary Edition and Super Puzzle Fighter 2 Turbo. According to Capcom, these titles in particular are among the most popular arcade smashers.
All 10 games in the Capcom Fighting Collection are equipped with ranked, casual and custom matches for online battles. A rollback netcode ensures stable online matches with low latency. Crucial technical features for an online tournament. Beginners can be happy about new training modes that gently introduce you to the world of fighting games. Well, at least as gently as you can in a fighting game. Custom Match options and various new Versus features expand the local game modes with even more depth to the base games.
In our opinion, a good collection with classics should also include bonus content and Capcom also delivers in this respect. An integrated virtual museum gives you an insight into the development work of the games and you can admire more than 500 designs from the games in the gallery. A music player is also included, with more than 400 classic tracks for the best retro feeling.
Street Fighter 6 and the Capcom Fighting Collection will soon be available at Gamesplanet.
