Street Fighter 6: New Modes “Random Avatar Matches” and “Avatar Arcade” Arrive on May 28

Street Fighter 6 is getting two new game modes on May 28: Random Avatar Matches for fair online battles and Avatar Arcade for efficient training against CPU opponents.

Capcom’s flagship fighting game Street Fighter 6 has been on the market since 2023 and is considered one of the best fighting games of recent years. In the Battle Hub, you can fight other players using your custom-created avatar, play Capcom classics, or battle your way through an open world in World Tour mode. In short: SF6 offers something for everyone, from casual brawlers to ranked veterans.

Random Avatar Matches: Fair Online Battles for Everyone

Starting May 28, Capcom is expanding Street Fighter 6 with two modes that make the avatar system significantly more appealing. In Random Avatar Matches, you fight online against other players without level differences affecting the outcome. This is made possible through a level-sync system that equalizes all base stats. All special attacks, Master Styles, and Super Arts are available from the start. Players who participate will also receive a beginner equipment set. Victories earn Avatar Points, which contribute to daily, weekly, monthly, and cumulative rankings.

Avatar Arcade: Now You Can Throw Hands with the AI

Avatar Arcade offers two modes for solo players. In “Spar with a Master,” you repeatedly fight CPU opponents to learn their moves. The higher the difficulty level, the faster your move set grows and the better the equipment rewards become. In “Battle Tour,” you face a series of Masters and NPCs from World Tour mode. Each course rewards you with prizes, including unlockable endings from classic Street Fighter games. Be warned: exceptionally powerful opponents occasionally appear — defeat them to earn rare items.

Both modes will launch alongside Ingrid, the final Year 3 character included in the Street Fighter 6 – Year 3 Character Pass.
