Robot Wars: Bandai Namco announces Super Robot Wars Y for 2025
Bandai Namco is once again sweetening the lives of gamers who enjoy watching mechas (violent fighting robots) bludgeon each other's circuit boards out of their shells. Next stop: Super Robot Wars Y.
Anime enthusiasts, you're in for a treat: mechas from different series have been battling it out in the tactical RPG series Super Robot Wars since the early 1990s, most recently in Super Robot Wars 30, released in 2021. Bandai Namco has now announced a sequel to the popular series. Super Robot Wars Y should be ready this year. There's also a first trailer, which you can watch here.
Super Robot Wars Y is not an action game, even though the trailer is quite action-heavy. Rather, gamers in this tactical role-playing game have to skilfully equip their mecha units with items, regularly upgrade them and confront their opponents on a grid. You train your pilots with credits, which you receive as a reward for completing missions.
In Super Robot Wars Y, mechas and pilots from various series will battle it out. Bandai Namco has announced the following series:
- COMBATTLER V
- Aura Battler Dunbine
- Mobile Fighter G Gundam
- Mobile Suit Gundam the Witch from Mercury Season 1
- Majestic Prince
- Macross Delta the Movie: Passionate Valkyrie
- Code Geass Lelouch of the Re;surrection
- Getter Robo Arc
Super Robot Wars Y will soon be available on Gamesplanet for PC.
