I use Mcafee and I can also observe that my system performance got affected post downloading. I even deleted the file after downloading. Yet system performance degraded somewhat

There's definitely no viruses in the files, but McAfee is a known offender when it comes to false positives. I'd suggest using a different anti virus program.
